As the Barony of Smoking Rock must once every seven
years give up our use of Camp Greenough,
we will not be able to bring you Vinland Raids until
next year. What does this mean? Will there be no War
College?! Tell me it's not so!! Its not.
Fear not! In the tradition of King Alphonso Of Spain and the reconquista, we will bring you Castilian Raids. A warmer more decadent cousin of Vineland Raids. As it was custom that several times a year the noble King would call to arms, for military exercises, all his vassals and plan raiding expeditions deep into the rich Tiafa kingdoms of Al Andalus; so we too shall gather and exercise our martial might. For how else do you extract pariahs (read protection money) from the wily and decadent Midrealmers... uh, we mean Moors? We will hold the usual classes on melee tactics small and large as well as single weapon and strategy classes for novice and the more advanced fighter as well. Taught by several of the best stout warrior-teachers the East has to offer. These will be offered for both Armored and fencing combatants! But wait as this is not Vineland raids, and the huge hall offers warmth and decor, there will be arts and science exhibits and demonstrations, music, and dancing. (¡Muy bailar!) In addition to a rich over filled day board of all the delicacies both hot and cold that Andalusia has to offer, prepared by the hands of our own Lady Tatiana DiVivar, and served in the style of an Inn.(¡Muy delicioso!)
